On 7 August 2026, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., President of Mahidol University, assigned Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thunwadee Suksaroj, Director of the ASEAN Institute for Health Development, Mahidol University, and Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN), to participate in the 19th Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network (TUN-HPN) Committee Meeting. The meeting was held in Meeting Room 218, Student Activity Center Building, Division of Student Affairs, Burapha University, with online participation via Zoom.
The meeting was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Parinya Nakpathom, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relations, Burapha University, and Chair of the Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network Committee for the 2026–2028 term.
The meeting brought together members of the TUN-HPN Committee, including Dr. Wiwat Rojanapithayakorn,M.D., Advisor to the TUN-HPN Committee; Prof. Narin Hiransuthikul, M.D., Advisor to the TUN-HPN Committee; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Udomphon Puetpaiboon, Vice President for Human Resources and Special Affairs, Prince of Songkla University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Chirawath Phatsara, Vice President, Chiang Mai University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pensri Charoenwanich, Vice President for Student Affairs and Innovation, Khon Kaen University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Chaiwat Promjittiphong, Vice President for Planning and Social Strategy, Srinakharinwirot University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Wichien Prechathamwong, Vice President for Student Affairs, Kasetsart University; Asst. Prof. Nalin Sittitoon, Acting Assistant to the President, Suranaree University of Technology; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyapong Janmaimool, Deputy Executive Director of the ASEAN University Network–Health Promotion Network (AUN-HPN) and Deputy Director for Strategy and International Relations, ASEAN Institute for Health Development.
The meeting was also honored by the participation of Ms. Suttinee Chattayalak, Director of the Student Development Division, Chiang Mai University; Asst. Prof. Dr. Darunee Phukhao, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Mahidol University; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suphachai Tawichai, Vice President for Student Affairs, Silpakorn University; Mr. Pongsak Thongrattana, Director of the Office of Healthy Organization Promotion, Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth); together with executives and representatives from TUN-HPN member universities across all regions of Thailand.
During the meeting, participants presented progress updates, exchanged experiences, and discussed strategic directions for advancing the network in several key areas, including:
1. The implementation plan for the Thai University Network for Health Promotion Network (TUN-HPN) under the project supporting health promotion capacity development among universities within the AUN-HPN network.
2. Progress of collaborative research projects conducted by TUN-HPN member universities on mental health and vaping, with the aim of generating evidence and policy recommendations to strengthen health promotion in higher education institutions.
3. Show and Share: Best Practices from Member Universities, including:
- The Eastern Thailand Health Promotion University Network Enhancement Project, aligned with the ASEAN University Health Promotion Network standards.
- Arttopia Campus: Promoting Student Mental Health through Art and Music Networks, an initiative designed to enhance well-being and aesthetic appreciation within university communities.
- Data-driven Healthy University Action, showcasing evidence-based approaches to advancing healthy university initiatives through data-informed decision-making.
The meeting reflected the strong commitment and collaboration among TUN-HPN member universities in advancing health promotion across Thailand's higher education sector. Supported by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), the network continues to strengthen the capacity of Thai universities to implement the Healthy University approach in a practical and sustainable manner. These collective efforts are expected to elevate national standards to the international level while contributing to healthier and more sustainable university communities and society.
